After two months, we are finally able to announce one of our most significant updates to date: the open beta release of Lunar V2 - a new look and feel for our product that aims to elevate your experience to a new level beyond our competitors.
The beta version introduces a new user interface and a long awaited feature - VPK (map) parsing, which improves the speed of visibility checks to a level that is comparable to internal providers.
Premium users can find the detailed changelog here.
Why open beta?
During the last few weeks the staff team came to the conclusion that a full recode (instead of just a new interface) is necessary to ensure a stable and premium experience for our customers. Recoding everything would add another month or two to an already delayed update, which is why we've decided to release an open beta to hear your feedback on the state of our software, where it excels and where it falls short. Useful feedback will also be rewarded with subscriptions and could result in you being invited to our beta testing team.
Other changes
- We've increased both the referral reward and cashback from 5% to 10% to encourage usage of the referral system.
- We are considering going invite only after V2 is fully released - if you aren't registered we recommend you do so now.
- To ensure that we consistently deliver on our promises, we're going to focus on providing more realistic expectations rather than giving promises that we can't deliver.
What's next?
Development on a full recode will begin as soon as this post goes live. The recode will be developed with your feedback in mind. This also means the open beta version will not receive many major updates until the recode is ready to be publicly tested. After the aforementioned recode is released we plan to begin developing software for other Valve games, particularly the unreleased game "Deadlock".
Feature list
The full feature list can be found here.
Showcase
P.S: We are also looking for long-term content creators! - more information can be found here.
Special thanks to:
The beta testing team for testing the software and finding many major problems
@million for rewriting networking code
@nitro for immensely useful feedback about the current state of the product and brand leading to this decision
